Once your video is finished you can upload it to your MediaSpace account to share it Recording a Presentation If you'd like to do a screen recording of a Powerpoint along with audio and/or video, you can download and install the Personal Capture tool to create a recording Bookmarks D2L Instructional Videos MySRU Rockmail Office 365 Help Office 365 Download Download and install the Personal Capture tool 1. Click one of these links to download the Personal Capture tool: Download for Windows | Download for Mac 2. Run the installer. Click Next - Next - Install - Finish to complete the setup. 3. To start the program, go to the Media Space homepage, click Add New then Personal Capture . Recording using the Personal Capture tool 1. To start a recording, go to the Media Space homepage , click Add New then Personal Capture to open the program (program must be installed before use). Recording Options: You have the option to record your screen, a video, an audio clip, or all three at the same time. 2. In the program, you'll see a screen , camera , and audio button. When the icons are blue, they are active and will be on during the recording. Click an icon to turn a tool off or click the arrow next to the icon to select a different tool from a drop-down menu. When off, the icons will turn grey with a line through them. 3. When you have selected all your necessary tools, click the big red circle to start the recording. It will show a countdown on when the recording will start. 4. When recording, the program will show a time and give you the option to stop, pause, or draw on the screen. 5. When finished recording, click the stop button then Yes, to Stop . 6. Give your video a name in the Title section then click Save & Upload . My Media Page The My Media page is where you can access and manage all your media within Kaltura. From here you can add new media or Manage Media you have uploaded or recorded. 1. Access MediaSpace at: sru.mediaspace.kaltura.com 2. From the top of the page, click on the My Media link (enter My SRU login when prompted). 3. Your media will be listed on the My Media page. Link to Media You can share links to media from MediaSpace. 1. Login to Media Space and click on the My Media link 2. From the My Media page, click on a media thumbnail or title from the list. 3. From the media viewing page click the Share button under the media player. 4. Copy the link to share with others. Note: You must Publish your media as Unlisted before you can share media with others. See Media Privacy Settings for more information on media publishing options. Publish Media Before Sharing 1. Click the Actions button. 2. Select Publish from the menu. 3. Select Unlisted . Your media will be visible to anyone with a link to the page. Copy HTML Embed Code You can embed media within your D2L course. Follow these steps to copy HTML embed code from media within Media Space. 1. From your My Media page in Media Space, click on a media thumbnail or title from the list. 2. Click the Share button under the media player. 3. Click on the Embed link. 4. Select a Player Skin (Dark, Light or Hover Controls). 5. Select a Player Size (Large, Medium or Small). 6. Copy the HTML embed code and paste the code into your D2L course, faculty website or blog. Media Privacy Settings By default all media uploaded to Kaltura is private. In Media Space you must publish your media as Unlisted before others can view it. Access media from your My Media page. Control your media privacy settings by following these instructions below: 1. From your My Media page in Media Space, click on a media thumbnail or title from the list. 2. Click the Actions button, then select Publish from the menu. Media Publishing Options: 1. Private: Media uploaded to MediaSpace is private by default and only accessible to the owner. 2. Unlisted: Media visible to anyone with link to page. 3. Published: Media will be visible within the MediaSpace Channels area. You must be logged into MediaSpace to access Channels. Media within Private Channels will only be visible to invited members. 3. Click the Save button. 4. Click the OK button to confirm your changes. A confirmation message will display underneath the media. Download Media 1. From your My Media page > click the Edit button for the media entry you want to download. 2. Click the Download Media button from the video player control bar. The video file will begin downloading to your computer. Delete Media Follow these steps to delete media from Kaltura Media. CAUTION: deleting media from within MediaSpace will permanently remove that media. Keep copies of your original videos before deleting your video in Media Space. 1. From your My Media page > click the Delete button for the media entry you want to delete in the list. 2. Click the Delete button once again from the confirmation message.
